Book – Technique for Guitar – Vol 1

This book was born from the need to produce a collection of exercises, studies and pieces, which represent a technical, compositional and more generally ‘musical’ journey, which I have been developing in recent years. Encouraged by several requests from friends (students and fans of my work, who were looking for scores of my compositions, studies or simply exercises) I decided to create this material. However, I warn that this work does not intend to be understood as a method, but simply as a collection.

In this way, this project resulted in a technical book, even without the intention of creating a technical method. This is a selection of the material that I like to play the most, to keep my technique trained. It is worth mentioning that I strongly believe in the ‘mixture’ and ‘influence’ of different musical styles (where there is a great opportunity to be creative and musically original), as well as in the possibility of applying different techniques in these styles. For this reason, this collection can be considered as an ‘applied technique’ book.

The exercises pay particular attention to the ‘minced’ technique, as this is what the public has recently asked me about the most. These are exercises that become an effective gym for strengthening the fingers of both hands.

The studies (or micro-studies) cover a panoramic view with reference to the pulgar, alzapúa, arpeggio, Picado and tremolo techniques, the combination of fingers on the right hand and techniques in general.

In the creation phase, I almost always tried to compose exercises and studies that were as ‘musical’ as possible, except for some that obviously had no aesthetic objective, but rather didactic ones.

Regarding the pieces, I chose between some of my compositions, which I found required a more advanced technical level.

This book, which accompanies the DVD, is intended primarily for me, as I am the first student and student of this material, since I recognize how necessary it is to study such advanced content to improve the technique.

This collection is also aimed at all students, friends and fellow guitarists, who want to develop and perfect their own technical skills or who would just like to play some of my compositions.
